This morning a good friend dropped me an email getting help on checking her blog’s PR – it dropped to PR0. I’ve known her blog to be at PR3 (I hope I remember it right) when I posted out this big buzz on September 2008 Google pagerank update in this blog. Was there a Google update once again? I’ve always read from big SEO masters that updates happen every two or three months, and I had been a firsthand witness of these changes.

I decided to checked all my blogs PR. They all still contain the same Google PR. I decided to check this September 2008 Google pagerank update post: one of the blogs in the list had been spanked! It means that my poor friend is not alone!

I decided to consult my feed reader and Google search to find more bloggers who had noticed this seemingly subtle page rank update. There seemed to be not much buzz created about this update.

I made a lot of “dofollow links” but I’m still at PR1

Interesting… I have not made any paid reviews in this blog, and all the links that I had posted when I gave awards and mentioned tags are all “dofollow” links. Still, this blog remains to be in PR1. My main blog, The Lady Programmer, still suffered the PR0 penalty on its old domain.

I still hope that this problem lies on one of Google’s datacenters getting busted. I went to iWebTool’s pagerank checker and those spanked blogs had the same pagerank on all datacenters.

I’m beginning to get convinced that there had been a small Google pagerank update! UPDATE: I almost forgot, kouji’s haiku blogroll got a pagerank rise from N/A to PR1.
