The Single Parent Talks

personal thoughts, life experiences

Still a Fearful Blogger

October18

I started out blogging just because I simply wanted to try it out what it feels like to blog. Like most bloggers, I started out with a very personal blog based on my personal experience – after all that’s what a blog is defined: a personal journal posted online, right?

I was unfortunate to stumble on a not-so-good loyal reader in my very first blogging post. She found me through the tags (in Blogger, you call these post labels) that I had put up whenever I publish my post. In Wordpress.com, writing out tags for each blog post helps in finding other Wordpress.com readers. That reader was a single parent like me, she’s about my age and has a lovely daughter about the same age as my kid. She lives in sunny California.

Mentally disturbed

One of her disturbing comments was the one that deals with the mental people in the Philippines. “What (does your country) do to those who have mental illnesses?”, she asked. Mentally ill people in the country do not often end up in mental hospitals and get treatment. Some of them live on the streets. Others live with their families. It is always a disturbing thought that some families literally tie or chain up their mentally ill relatives for years, especially the poor ones – simply because this is the best solution that they have. Well, there are institutions that can help these guys – not as progressive as the drug rehab and alcohol treatment centers that the US have all over the country – and I think the general public is not aware of it.

I must have scared the hell out of that poor girl.

I’ve decided to do some internet research in Google on her identity. It was easier than I thought – because her pen name is all around those forums that connects the Orthodox Christian community. All those forums did not like her, and she was always banned from these. She was also kicked out in Yahoo Groups. I eventually found that one page website about her. She’s suffering from some psychological disorder – I forgot the name – but she likes to crave for attention and that is why she wanted to really mess up forums.

She had used dozens of email addresses, because she’s always been kicked out.

One person even put up a single web page on her identity. That person was probably very pissed off by her attitude.

She was a former mental patient. I guess she hadn’t healed well. She’s even a good photographer. She shared some of her work – some of her pictures show a lovely pose of her daughter at a calm lake. She was also the first person to invite me in Facebook.

Show it!

Sadly, I could not show you that post. Wordpress.com deleted that blog months ago because I was promoting PTC sites and doing sponsored posts. I also lost contact with her and apparently, she deleted her Facebook account (was she kicked out again?).

My other blogs had grown and gained a lot of readers – I am blessed to have encouraging ones around, which keeps me blogging for more. I really hope I don’t run into another disturbed reader. I still got fear for it.
